I Still Stitch

I admit, I knit much more than I cross stitch

and

while I have many knit projects on my needles,

I am almost always a monogamous cross stitcher.

Facts are facts. Knitting is a much more portable craft. I can sit in any kind of chair, in any place and knit away the hours. Cross stitch is different. There's all that floss. A tiny needle that just loves to drop to the floor and hide. There's that pattern that needs a place to sit.

While I have taken my cross stitch to the coffee shops to work on, it is fairly rare. So, cross stitch tends to be a little more slow going even though I enjoy the work thoroughly.

My current project is quite timely.

Please excuse the hoop mark.

The pattern is Liberty by Brenda Gervais. I started it back in February and I am hoping to have it back home from the framer in time for the 250th anniversary on July 4th.

I really don't have much more to do. The right hand green "stars" is the border line. Much of what is left to stitch is very straight forward.

I'm going to be like the Little Train That Could.

I think I can. I think I can.

  1. I really like that cross stitch. What an amazing year to celebrate! 250 yers. And living where you do, I'm sure there will be lots of things going on. Like you I rarely take my stitching projects on the go. That's normally for sock knitting. Piper and I each are taking a small embroidery project with us this week on our trip. It will be fun stitching together although she gets frustrated at the time it takes. I think we've raised a generation of instant gratification kids. :-)
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
