It is Sand Castle Time at Peddler's Village

You know summer is just around the corner

when the Peddler's Village sand castles go on display.

This year we imagine we are on a road trip.

The sandcastles depict different sections of the United States.

Let's start where it all began ..... the North East.

From left to right:

NYC skyline as seen from Ellis Island
The Statue of Liberty
The Declaration of Independence
The Liberty Bell

On the back of that:
Independence Hall in Philadelphia
Niagara Falls
The Portland Head Lighthouse in Maine

In the Southeast we find:
The Space Shuttle (Florida)
Graceland (Memphis, TN)
Elvis
Musical notes for Music Row (Nashville)
An alligator ---- basically all through the southeast

Not shown --- a saxaphone player on the left side

A Mississippi River boat
and a basket of Georgia peaches

We just might need a stop at Buc-ees, Wawa, Sheetz, or Rutters.
It's a long ride over to the midwest
and the southwest.

Mount Rushmore

The farms of the prairie states, the breadbasket of America.

Takin' a trip on Route 66.
An oil derrick
A pueblo and
a steer scull.

The ubiquitous cactus,
cowboy boots and cowboy hat.

Last, but not least, we make it to the west coast.

This sandcastle was huge and the detail was a little harder to capture.

Totems
Alaskan Bear
The Golden Gate Bridge
California Condor and or course,
hooray for HOLLYWOOD

The sand castle theme was to honor America's 250th.

I think they did a pretty great job.

So, tell me,

what is your favorite thing about where you live?
