Sum-sum-summertime!

 Happy first day of summer.

I'm starting the season with a finish.

Liberty by Brenda Gervais
Fabric:  28-count Wichelt White Chocolate
Started: Feb. 11, 2026

Finished at 5:05pm today.

Washed and drying on a towel right now,
so please excuse the wrinkles.

This was the first time I have done one over one stitches.

On this 28 count fabric it wasn't that bad.
I would not like to try it on 40 count.
That is just crazy pants!

I did make some modifications. Nothing significant,
but just little tweaks I liked better.

I used DMC throughout.
The pattern calls for overdyed floss.

I'm not a big fan. It's pricey. You have to do each x fully,
AND a big one for me.

You can't wash the project when you are done.

Well, maybe you CAN, but the results may not be predictable.

So, DMC it is and I'm fine with the look.

It's off to the framer tomorrow.

I won't have it back by the forth.

My framer is many things, like precise, very good at picking frames
and very affordable.

What he is not ---- quick.

I just have to be okay with that because of all those "other" things.

Hope everyone had a great first day.

I did. I not only had a finish,
but I had a start.

I had to start a summer sock, right?
New season. New sock.

Stay tuned.

  2. I love this piece Dee. It's so beautiful and patriotic. I completely understand your choice of using DMC. I've chosen it over the overdyed floss in the past too. More economical and I think the results are wonderful.
    Blessings and hugs,

  3. You made really quick work of that! It turned out beautifully. I'm in love with that yellow house. I agree on the DMC thing. I always make the conversion.
