Sunday Photo Dump
A couple of days ago I finally was able to obtain a cross stitch pattern that has been very hard to find. Yesterday we took a ride up to Hodge Podge in Strasburg (PA) to see if I could get a piece of fabric large enough in a color that would compliment the floss used.
I was successful in finding a fabric. It's just a slightly mottled white hand dyed fabric from Fabric on a Whim. Nothing real exciting and I will show it when I start the project. I also bought a very cute hand made emery strawberry, a Tacky Bill and a beading mat for when I get started on Christmas ornaments.
The highlight of the day was the scenery.
It was a very "buggy" day.
It was also a day for working in the fields.
We didn't stop at the Railroad Museum or at the Strasburg train rides.
We've been there before.
But, it was still nice seeing the "outside" trains.
It was a good thing we were able to go yesterday.
Weatherwise, today is supposed to be a rough ride.

Those were some great photos Dee. I used to read books about the Amish and Old Order Mennonites a lot and would love to visit the places where they live. I'm glad you found what you needed, (and more), for your new project. We had a wild weather day yesterday but today I woke up to blue, blue skies. Thanks for taking us along on your day trip.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I've only run across those buggys a few times when I've been further south where there is a large Amish population over in Hughesville. It's quite the sight to see them clip clopping along with the traffic.
ReplyDeleteI love train travel. One of the highlights of my life was taking a roomette home from Chicago one Thanksgiving after visiting Son who was in law school. The dining car was just like you see it in White Christmas. I was so tickled.
I can't wait to see the new project. You always find the coolest things.
